I love President Hinckley. What a wonderful Prophet of God. He loved everyone and taught us to be a little more kinder, and to become a better people. When we listen to and obey a Prophet of God then our life and the life's of other will be blessed. I am grateful to live in the time that the Lord has given us a latter-day Prophet. What more can I say that hasn't already been said.

The 52 Blessings Project
About 52 Blessings Once a week post a photo of something you are most grateful for. This gives us a chance to reflect on the good things we have learned from or that have made us better in our everyday lives or things we just enjoy! I think everyone needs to be more grateful for what they have now days instead of always thinking about what we want! This is one of the things we can do to be more gracious people. It will be like a photo gratitude journal.

Pedicure

Jessie gave me a gift certificate for a pedicure. I don't think I have painted my toe nails for months. It feels, and looks good. When they ask you what color, I always pick a bright HAPPY color. It helps with the winter blues. ( I haven't had any winter blues I have loved the snow keep it coming!) Thank you Jessie, you are the best!

Happy Birthday To My Sister Debbie!

This is my sister Debbie at about age of eight.

This is my brothers and sisters. Debbie is the oldest sister.
She is the one with the big collar. I am the one in the dark dress.

This is my sister Debbie.

Ten reasons I think my sister is so cool.
1. She can do anything!
2. She does genealogy like no other.
3. She is doing continuing education from BYU
to get her four year degree in family life.
4. She takes an institute class.
5. Mother of seven.
6. All four of her sons served missions for the LDS Church.
7. She helps her husband run a successful business in Arizona.
8. She is a great tour director for our annual sister's trip.
9. She is a great example to me. She also served a LDS mission.
10. She is a great listener and friend to me. Always there when I need her!

You've been my sister
For may years,
We've laughed together
And shed some tears.
We've had harsh words,
And pulled some hair
But against the world
We are a terrific pair.
Our times together are very few,
I just want to say I LOVE YOU!

Hanging out on Sunday

Jessie, and Jason come over almost every Sunday for dinner.
Their Church doesn't get out until 4:30, so we eat at about 5:00 or so.
Then we just hang out together, maybe watch a movie, or some times we play a game.
( A good family movie)

Chocolate Church Mouse Cake

Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup oil
4 eggs
½ cup sour cream
1 large package Instant Chocolate pudding mix.
6 oz. chocolate chips

Mix all together, spray and flour a bunt pan.
Bake at 350 50 to 60 minutes.
I have also used a yellow cake mix and vanilla pudding.
So moist, so good!

Christmas for Stacy

Geoff ordered this puzzle for Stacy on Walmart.com

before Christmas. It took awhile to get here. So she didn't open

her presents until last night.

He also gave her a Temple calender. Stacy loves the San Diego Temple.

He also made her a memory book that was very cute. They have been dating for a few years and we had a lot of pictures of them. Geoff did a great job. I think that Stacy was very pleased.

Chocolate Spoons

My friend Lynette's son Brady is getting married this Thursday. Lynette come over on Saturday and we dipped plastic spoon in to chocolate. They are serving Hot Chocolate and you use the spoons to stir the chocolate with. Cute idea.

Chicken Broccoli Pie

This is a family favorite!
A recipe from my good friend Karen Cope.

Chicken Broccoli Pie

1 lb. chopped chicken or turkey
1/4 C chopped onion
2 Tbsp flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 1/4 C milk
1 (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 (10 oz) pkg. chopped frozen broccoli
cooked and drained
4 oz. shredded cheese
(Cheddar, Mozzarella , or Jack)
Pastry for 9 inch pie pan
(I use Pillsbury pie dough!)
Saute chicken and onion in 1 Tbsp oil till
done. Add flour, coat chicken; add salt, garlic salt,
and milk. Stir until bubbly, add cream cheese until melted.
Stir some of hot mixture to egg, then stir egg into pan.
Add broccoli, pour hot mix into baked pastry shell, and
sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350 for 30 min.

It snowed again today!

Rlyie, McCall, Lydia and Eshter played in the snow today.

Carlie went snowboarding at Sundance with some friends.

It's a soup day. ENJOY!

Tortellini Bean and Pesto Soup
2 tablespoons butter
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, cut into julienne strips
1 medium onion, chopped (½ cup)
1 medium stalk celery, sliced (1/ 2 cup)
6 cups water
2 teaspoons vegetable bouillon granules
1 can (15 to 16 ounce) kidney beans,
rinsed and drained
1 package (10 ounce) dried cheese filled tortellini
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6tablespoons pesto
6 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium-low heat.
Cook garlic, carrot, onion and celery in butter
10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in water and bouillon granules. Heat to boiling;
reduce heat. Stir in beans and tortellini. Cover and
simmer about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until
tortellini are tender.
Stir in parsley and pepper. Top each serving with
pesto and cheese. Serve immediately. 6 servings

It is Snowing!

We woke up this morning to a ton of snow and it keeps snowing.

This is our back yard. It was slow taking the girls to school.

Half the kids didn't even show up for school. They should of canceled school.

My new Bedding from Target

I got this new bed when we moved in the home in April.

Scott and I had a water bed frame with a mattress in it.

I have been wanting a new bed for years, so when we moved

in I got the bed. I just found this Comforter at Target.

I really like it. It's fun to make the bed.

My sister Judy and I took a class at American Quilting.

We started before Christmas. The class was a hand bag class.

It was fun and kinda easy and a little hard.

Sisters are the best. Judy and I had a good time. Thank you Judy

Spinach Calzone

Filling:

• 1 pint ricotta cheese
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. garlic powder or 2 cloves crushed garlic
• 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
• 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
• 1 box frozen spinach, thaw & squeeze dry

Thaw frozen rolls (Rhodes Texas Size) in refrigerator overnight. ( I don't always do this I just let them thaw for a few hours on the counter it works) Knead two rolls together and flatten dough into round. Place 1/3 cup filling in dough & fold oven and seal edges. Brush with egg and let rise about 45 minutes. ( I don't do this ether I just put them in the over after I seal the edge.) Bake 350 degrees until they are golden brown, about 20 to 30 min. Serve with heated sauce. (Prego or Ragu)
