Carlie and the Yucatan Mexico Service Trip

Carlie left Saturday June 7th to go to Mexico with her school Liahona. The trip is a total of 8 days. She will spend 4 full days giving service at two orphanages, one in Cancun, one in Merida and a Salvation Army Food Pantry. She will be re-roofing and tiling walls, as well as other fix-up chores.

The School has some Dentist and Doctors, going and offering free dental and medical care while they are at the orphanges.

This trip is not all work though, as they will visit Mayan ruins of Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza with an LDS guide and swim in the ceynote at Ik Kil . They will also go to a Sacrament Meeting in Cancun.

We will all miss Carlie! She is going to get some of her Personal Progress done while there! YEAH!!

Jessica Washburn (now Phillips) has been Rylie's ballet teacher for about 6 years. She has been the best roll model for Rylie. She is a great example of a LDS young women. She has such a great spirit about her. She waited for her husband while on his mission. She went to Study at Navuoo. Now goes to BYU. She is a great ballerina. We love her. They got married June 3rd in the Manti Temple. Thank you Jessica! (Rylie also has her older sister Jessie that is a great roll model. She was married June 2nd 2007 in the Manti temple )

Scott and I went to Hawaii for about a week with our friends the Cardons.
We had a great time. It rained a lot. We were able sit on the beach one afternoon.
We went on a boat in the ocean, and Zip Lining. We eat great food. Its nice to get away every once in awhile.

Lips Sync

Rylie, Lydia and McCall entered a lip sync contest at Liahona last week. They took first place and won 100 dollars - $25 dollars each. Their song was Leader of the Pack and they put it together themselves.

My Mom

Yesterday for Mother's day my wonderful kids made dinner for me. It was wonderful. At dinner I shared with my kids a few things about my mother. She passed away twelve years ago in February. She died of cancer. She was a very loving, patient, Christ like mother. She love the calling of motherhood and was a great example to me. She was a stay at home mom. She was alway there for me and my brothers and sisters. She loved my Dad and the Lord. I hope that I am half the mother she was to her children. I miss you mom.
