Carthage Jail

My cute nephew Kyle
Judy, Me and Debbie

Carthage Jail was the location of the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum on June 27, 1844.

This last week my sisters and I went to Nauvoo for our sister's trip. We go on a trip once a year to keep close and just have a good time. This year we had a few extra people. Judy's son Kyle, Debbie's son Zac and my Dad and his wife Lila. ( Remember that my wonderful mother passed away.) Here are a few pictures from Carthage Jail.

I love Church History and each time I visit the history sites. My testimony grows. I love the early saints and all that they did so we can have what we have to day. I know that Joesph Smith was a Prophet of God!

Judy and Russell and Scott and I

For labor day Judy, Russell, and Lacey come to our cabin. We had a blast and the weather was beautiful. I am so blessed to have my sister Judy live so close. I really enjoy her and her friendship. Sister's are the best! Next week my sisters and I are going on our sister's trip to Nauvoo. So fun. We really enjoy being together.

Thriller at the Covey for the Arts

Scott and I went to Thriller(Odyssey Dance Theater) at the Covey center for the Arts in Provo. We had a great time. Some of it was Dark, some of it was crude, some of it was boring and for the most part very fun and entertaining. But over all worth going to. My favorite was Dem Bones, and River of the Blood Dance.

Best Pesto I have ever made.

2 cup Fresh Basil
2 Tbsp. Pine Nuts
2 cloves Garlic
1/2 tsp. Salt
dash of Pepper
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup Romano cheese
2/3 cup Olive Oil
2 Tbsp. butter

Toast the pine nuts in a small skillet in a bit of butter. Add grated Parmesan and Romano cheese to your food processor. Wash and drain basil-remove stems. Put all ingredients in to food processor and blend until smooth. Freeze or refrigerated until read to use.
I use pesto in soups, pasta and on this great Pizza.

* 1 (4 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and sliced
* 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
