- Read food labels when you shop
- Eat fresh or plain frozen vegetables
- Select lean cuts of meat
- Broil, bake, steam, or microwave foods instead of frying them
- Season your food with herbs, lemon juice, flavored vinegar, or salt-free spice mixes, instead of using margarine, butter, or salt. Take the saltshaker off the table.
- Avoid cream, cheese, or butter sauces, which add fat and cholesterol.

Thanks for sharing the heart healthy eating tips! I know all the things you mentioned are good for you. I try to eat healthy. My friends at school always say if taste really delicious it usually isn't healthy or low-cal!
