I Thank Thee O God for a Prophet!
Today President Thomas S. Monson was named as the 16th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served as a Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church since November 10, 1985. Most recently, on March 12, 1995, he was set apart as First Counselor to President Gordon B. Hinckley. Prior to that, on June 5, 1995, he was called as Second Counselor to President Howard W. Hunter, and Second Counselor to President Ezra Taft Benson. He was ordained an Apostle and called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 4,1963, at the age of 36. President Monson called President Henry B. Eyring as First Counselor, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf was call as Second Counselor
I love this man, and believe that he was called of God. We are truly blessed to live in these latter days, to have a Prophet of God to lead us and guide us. I believe that if we listen and obey our life's will be blessed, and that we can bless the life of others.
I am thankful for living Prophets!
