52 blessings week 11

Scott has been a member of the LDS Church for 34 years!!
I don't know why the pictures turned out bad but they did. This is our family at Olive Garden.
We are Celebrating Scott's 34 th anniversary of his baptism in to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
Scott was introduced to the Church at the age of 15. He was given a Book of Mormon by a friend of his. He took the book and read it in one night. He knew it was true and was baptized onMarch 16, 1974. I am grateful to member missionaries who are doing their job. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon. I love this book and it great power.

52 Blessings Week 10

The March Ensign is an issue exclusively about the Savior Jesus Christ. It contains apostolic and scriptural witnesses, personal testimony, artwork, and more.
I love the March issue of the Ensign. I have been reading it from cover to cover. I am grateful for the Savor. I was blessed to be born into a family that taught the teaching of Christ.

The words “come unto Christ” are an invitation. It is the most important invitation you could ever offer to another person. It is the most important invitation anyone could accept.

52 blessing project week 9

I am grateful for two things this week. One, my Relief Society lesson is over! Two, I gave my lesson on Feasting on the Scriptures. I am grateful for the Scriptures. I had these two food displays to show how if we don't feast on the Scriptures our spirits will not get enough to listen to the revelations the Lord has for us. The blessings of reading the Scriptures are great. I am not perfect at Scripture reading (I am working on getting better). Our family Scripture reading has been very good. We get up every morning at 6:30 (ever since Jessie was five). When Jessie was around the age of five, a talk was given in Sacrament meeting on the blessings of Scripture reading.

In 1980 President Marion G. Romney said:
I counsel you, my beloved brothers and sisters and friends everywhere, to make reading the Book of Mormon a few minutes each day a lifelong practice. All of us need the uninterrupted association with the Spirit of the Lord. We need to take the Holy Spirit for our constant guide that we be not deceived. I am persuaded by my own experience and that of my loved ones, as well as by the statements of the Prophet Joseph Smith, that one can get and keep closer to the Lord by reading the Book of Mormon than by reading any other book. Don’’t be content with what someone else tells you about what is in it. Drink deeply from the divine fountain itself.

I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity——the pure love of Christ——will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness.

The promised blessing are real. Yet studies have shown that, despite the great benefits that only about 30 present of active LDS families hold some form of regular scripture study.

I love to sew!

I used to sew all the time when Jessie was little. I made most of her church dresses and some play clothes. Then I started buying clothes for her because you could buy cheaper then you could sew. I hated getting my sewing machine out and putting it away everyday, so I quit sewing. When we moved in to the new house I got my own office with my sewing machine up all the time. Now I sew and just shut the door. This is an apron that I made for a dear friend for her birthday. Happy Birthday Jill I hope you like it!

52 Blessing Project Week 8

I am grateful for my home and this is the hang out place for my children and their friends. This is a picture of Geoff and his friends shoes. This is were Geoff hangs out most of the time. I love having him and his friends at our home. On this night he had twelve or more friends over for a Halo Party. Now I don't like Halo, but if they are going to play, play at my house.

Skiing with the girls!

Carlie, Rylie, Me, McKay and McCall Strong went skiing on Friday. We all got season passes but only Rylie and McCall have gotten their monies worth. They have gone almost every Friday. (NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAYS!) Carlie and McKay have only been twice now. To pay for the pass you need to go seven times. I have been about four times. The weather was great and the snow was good. I needed to leave early. So Carlie and McKay stayed. They had a blast and got some sun. We are all going again on Friday. I might go on Wed. I love to ski in the spring.
